Please PPR if this is your first visit.

Sittles Flying Club was founded in 1993 by a group of like-minded aviation enthusiasts. It is home to 20 aircraft including Microlights, Light Sport LAA types and GA and currently has around 35 members. The club had close links with the old Midland Microlight Flying Club, founded way back in 1981. This was the first of its kind in the Midlands area and one of the first in the country.

The airfield is at Sittles Farm situated 0.5 miles east of the A38 near Lichfield. Details can be found on our Airfield link.

There is a waiting list to join Sittles as a flying member - please contact our secretary for details.

We have various types of aircraft ranging from flexwings to hot ships. See our Photo's page.

In 2007 we had to move our runway across the road due to gravel excavation works. We had no choice in this matter and fortunately the land owners were very accommodating in helping us to relocate. Lichfield District Council were also sympathetic and understanding regarding our planning permission. For this reason we have had to impose a PPR policy to all new visitors to the airfield.  The runway layouts are new to everyone and, like all airfields, exhibit certain peculiarities that we must all be aware of. See our PPR page for details.

Flying instruction for Microlights can be obtained from our neighbours, The Microlight Flying School (Lichfield) or from Simon Baker at Midland Microlights. Group "A" training is available from Derby or Tatenhill, see our Links page for details, but no training takes place from Sittles airfield.

Sittles is an Unlicensed airfield.

Please have a little "jolly" around our web site. There are many links to various pages and useful information that you will only find by exploring, and maybe fly in and visit us one day.

Try out our FUN page. Go to the Firework Fun and then click as fast as you can on the picture. Also see our video clips.

And remember this!

When a pilot has 50 hours they know it all. When a pilot has 500 hours they know they know it all. When a pilot has 5000 hours they know that they will NEVER know it all.

Safe flying.
